Emergency services deal with serious incident on crossing in Swindon

Emergency services are dealing with a serious incident on a crossing in Swindon.

Wiltshire Police are both currently at the scene at Clive Parade in Cricklade Road this morning (4 October).

Locals report witnessing an elderly male casualty laying in the road, but there is currently no sign of an ambulance.

Wiltshire 999s understands the casually tripped and suffered injuries. Officers remain on the scene awaiting the ambulance service.

Traffic is building in the area, with Google Maps indicating standstill Cricklade Road. All connecting roads are suffering from slow traffic.

UPDATE 2PM:

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to a medical incident at 11:20am on Cricklade Road after a man fell into the road.

“He is now being looked after by the ambulance service.”

The road is now clear and it’s believed the patient has been taken to hospital for further treatment.
