A child’s been taken to hospital after an suspected suicide attempt at a school in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the secondary yesterday afternoon, following reports of a child falling from the balcony in the science wing of Nova Hreod Academy.
The pupil, thought to be a girl in Year 10, is said to be recovering from her injuries.
A vague email about the incident was sent to parents of students that attend the school today, reassuring them that there was no risk to other pupils.
Executive Principal of Nova Hreod Academy, Ruth Robinson, said: “As you may be aware, there was an incident at Nova yesterday afternoon. This was a medical emergency which was dealt with swiftly and professionally by staff.
“The emergency services attended the scene and praised the actions of all staff involved. I would like to reassure all parents that at no point was there a risk to the safety of any other students.”
