An elderly dog has been attacked by German Shepherd in Swindon.
The 14-year-old Whippet suffered nasty injuries, which requires treatment under sedation at the vets, during the incident at around 11am, on a path next to the stream near Shaftesbury Lake.
Posting on social media, the dog’s owner, Emma Leighfield, said: “Myself and my mum are distraught as what has happened today and I will have an extremely upset two year old son who will be heartbroken to find his beloved best friend is not at home when he returns from nursery.
“The dog who attacked was an Alsatian [German Shepherd], the owner was a man who is described as tall, wearing a navy/black hat, navy coat, grey trousers.”
Wiltshire Police are understood to be investigating and the dog warden’s been informed. Anyone with information should contact police by calling 101.
