An elderly man has died after a car crashed into a house near Bristol.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Ellacombe Road, Longwell Green, at around 1.30pm on Wednesday (18 December).
A grey Honda Civic left the road and struck a house, according to Avon and Somerset Police.
The force confirmed that the driver, a man aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “Despite the efforts of people who stopped to help and ambulance staff, tragically the man could not be saved.
“The man, believed to be in his eighties, has yet to be formally identified, but his immediate next of kin have been informed. Our sympathies are with them.
“He was the driver and sole occupant of a grey Honda Civic which left the road and collided with a house.
“Ellacombe Road remains closed for collision investigation and pending recovery of the vehicle.
