A house which had no working smoke alarms has been destroyed in a major blaze this morning.
Fire crews from Amesbury, Salisbury and Andover were called to the incident in Durrington at around 9.30am and extinguished the property using six hoses.
The whole ground floor of a terraced house was alight on arrival.
No one was injured in the fire; all occupants were out of the home when firefighters arrived.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The property had no working smoke alarms, but some of the doors downstairs had been closed which has reduced the amount of fire damaged to the property.
“Please make sure you have working smoke alarms and keep all doors shut when you leave your property or go to bed at night.”
