A suspected drug dealer has been arrested during a raid in Swindon this afternoon.
A dozen police officers entered the house in Bessemer Road West, Cheney Manor, at around midday as they carried out a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Officers could be seen searching the semi-detached two-bedroom property on the corner of the junction with Surrey Road. A drugs dog was also used to search a black Volkswagen parked outside.
A 24-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. He is currently in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
Wiltshire Police say they seized a quantity of drugs, cash, scales and paraphernalia.
PC Nathan Martin, from Swindon Community Policing Team, said: “We know people in Swindon have concerns about drug dealing and we are committed to identifying offenders, arresting them and disrupting this criminality.
“Not only does drug dealing cause great harm to our communities, but there is the associated illegal activity, such as anti-social behaviour and violence.”
