A driver has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Potterne.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the A360 through the village at around 5.30pm this evening (Tuesday, 11 October).
A black Volvo V90 collided with a parked vehicle and sustained significant damage to a wheel – which appears to have become partially detached from the car.
An ambulance attended with a paramedic officer, treating the driver of the car for what are understood to be minor injuries. they were subsequently taken to the hospital.
High Street, near the junction with Court Hill, remained closed to motorists at 6.15pm.
The route is expected to partially or full reopen before 7pm.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Drivers are advised to avoid the High Street in Potterne which is currently blocked by a broken down vehicle.
“It is likely that the route through Potterne, near Devizes, will be blocked for some time. Please seek alternative routes.”
