Witnesses were left baffled when a car crashed up some steps in Westbury.

The incident happened outside the town’s iconic Angel Mill in Edward Street yesterday morning (Sunday, 18 September).

It’s understood the driver was leaving the Morrisons supermarket car park exit before accelerating across the road and up several steps.

Emergency services were called to the scene, with at least one of the occupants of the vehicle sustaining minor injuries in the smash.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the driver didn’t require hospital treatment.

The force also confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the crash.

Witnesses were left concerned about how the incident even came about – with one stating they were “absolutely baffled” by events after walking past.
