A man from Harrow has been charged with multiple driving offences following an incident near Chippenham at the weekend.

Shortly before 9pm on Saturday 1 August, officers witnessed a man driving at 108mph on the M4. The vehicle was requested to stop but it made off and a pursuit was authorised. It was eventually stopped on the A350 near Kington Langley.

The driver, nineteen-year-old Jawad Al Ali, 19, of Malvern Gardens, was arrested and later charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without a licence and insurance, possession of a class B drug and failure to provide a blood sample following a drug drive arrest.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court this morning.
