A driver was arrested after a crash in a Sainsbury’s car park left a man injured.
Emergency services responded to a road traffic collision at the supermarket off Bath Road in Melksham at around 7pm on Friday evening (1 March).
A Kia Picanto was “located with significant damage having crashed into a tree in the main car park”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
They added: “Witnesses reported that the vehicle had collided with a bollard in the car park which had become embedded under the front bumper prior to this.”
A passenger in the vehicle – a man aged in his 20s from Corsham – was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further care following the incident.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s from Malmesbury, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of class A drugs.
He has since been released under investigation while the investigation continue.
As previously reported, at the height of the incident, two fire crews, several police units and an ambulance were on scene.
