Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service says it’s added someone to Santa Claus’ naughty list following an incident in the north of the county.
Firefighters were sent to a flood near Malmesbury — believed to be between Oakley and Upper Minety — this morning where a driver had ignored a road closed sign and attempted to cross the water.
As expected, their vehicle became stuck when the engine failed in the middle.
The attending fire crew weren’t required due to the driver managing to self-extricate prior to their arrival.
A spokesperson for the fire and rescue service said: “Sadly, we have had to put someone on the naughty list for driving through a Road Closed sign and into flood water where the vehicle then stopped in the middle, just outside Malmesbury.
“In all seriousness, please take extreme care and do not drive into flood water.”
