Dozens of people louted the law to gather in a Swindon town centre park this evening.
Despite the current coronavirus regulations banning people gathering in public, more than 50 individuals could be seen enjoying the sunshine in close proximity at Faringdon Park.
At 7pm, two police officers were seen to patrol the park but failed to make contact with the groups.
At least ten people were engaged in a football match, whilst elsewhere a young woman ignored social distancing advice as she ‘twerked’ against a male who had his t-shirt off at the time.
It is not a crime to ignore social distancing as these measures are only advisory, but in a document published by the College of Policing, police are told they should take action against public gatherings of three or more people from different households.
