A dog was found ‘overheating’ in hot car in Chippenham on Sunday.
A member of the public shared the photograph to social media to ‘express their disgust’ at the scene in the Morrisons car park at just after midday on 7 May.
“The car next to us had a little dog in it, panting at the window”, the poster wrote.
Not knowing how long the dog had been in the vehicle, the witness headed into the store. Around 30 minutes later, after completing their shop, the dog was seen to be lying down in the car, “clearly breathing sharply and fast”.
Ten minutes later, the owner turned up and the witness explained that a dog should not be left in a car on a hot day without any windows open. To which the dog owner’s response was: “How about you mind your business?” and then drove away.
The incident was reported the RSPCA.
