Firefighters rescued a dog from a house following a fire this afternoon.

Three fire crews – from Swindon, Stratton and Cricklade – responded to reports of a kitchen fire in Flora Close, Blunsdon, at around 2.30pm.

A dog was reportedly dragged from the property but is said to be uninjured.

“This fire was contained to the hob”, a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said. Adding: “Crews used mechanical ventilation to clear the property.”
