Three people, including a child, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Devizes.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was struck by a car in the Station Road area at around 8.45pm on Wednesday night (27 July).
The vehicle, a white Ford Fiesta, was driven away from the scene, and the casualty was rushed to Southmead Hospital in Bristol – where he is in a critical condition.
“The driver of the car involved in the collision fled the scene, although the vehicle, a white Ford Fiesta, was later found abandoned”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
Adding: “This afternoon (28/07) officers attended an address in the town and arrested a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy, all on suspicion of attempted murder.
“They also arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. They are all currently in police custody.”
