A Devizes abuser hopes to reinstate a relationship with a the woman he assaulted.
Kieran McPhillips previously pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating and appeared before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (18 January) for sentencing.
Prosecutor Keith Ballinger said the 34-year-old was verbally abusive towards his partner before pushing her off to bed onto the floor in August this year.
He said that the victim was left “shocked”, but didn’t sustain any injuries.
A similar incident, whereby the woman was pushed over, happened in June. Both assaults occurred in her own home.
Mark Glendenning, defending, said his client “hopes to reinstate relationship”, adding that he “doesn’t know her views” because he has had no contact with the victim since the incident.
McPhillips, of Winchcombe Avenue, Devizes, was given a 12-month community order with 15 rehabilitation activity days and 100 hours of unpaid work.
