A cyclist’s finger was severed in a crash with a car outside a Swindon pub.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Drove Road at approximately 7.45am on Wednesday (3 July).
The incident involved a man riding a bicycle and a car – directly outside The Merlin pub.
The 32-year-old cyclist sustained a serious injury to his finger when it became trapped in the car on impact, as he was thrown over the vehicle.
Part of his finger was amputated and as a result, he has lost feeling in his hand.
It’s not known whether the feeling will return in the future and may lose his engineering job.
No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
Witnesses should contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting 54240077733.
