A cyclist died when he came off his bicycle whilst riding in the Wiltshire countryside today.
The elderly man, in his 80s, was found by a member of the public lying in a narrow lane in Seend, near Melksham, at around 10am this morning.
Emergency services were called to the incident, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Row Lane was closed as specialist collision investigator worked at the scene. A four-hour probe into the crash concluded that it was likely no other vehicle was involved in the crash.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police commented: “His family has been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.
“Anyone who witnessed this or can help us in anyway should call 101 and quote log 61 of today.”
