A man is in custody arrested in connection with an ‘armed’ street robbery in Trowbridge.
At approximately 7.45pm, a male was walking in Biss Meadow Country Park when he was approached by a man who threatened him and demanded he hand over his bag.
The victim was not injured during the incident.
Officers attended the area and enquiries were conducted, which led to the swift arrest of a local man who was taken to Melksham custody for questioning.
“Reports of this nature are taken extremely seriously and detectives are continuing with their enquiries this morning”, a police spokesperson said.
Adding: “We would urge anyone with information to call 101 and quote log number 314 of Sunday August 28.
