A crime scene is in place after a man was seriously injured in an attack in an underpass in Swindon in the early hours of today (Sunday).

The serious assault happened between Whitehall Way and Windmill Hill Business Park at around 2am.

The victim, 37-year-old man, was assaulted by a group of unknown suspects wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.

Wiltshire Police say he sustained injuries which are not thought to be life-changing.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

A spokesperson for the force said “A cordon has been put in place at the location while enquiries are carried out.

“We are appealing for any witnesses that might have been in the area or driving past between 1am and 2am and noticed anything suspicious to get in touch.

“If you can help, please contact Acting DS Borresen on [email protected].

“You can also report anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
