A woman assaulted two police officers during her arrest, a court heard.
Chloe Morgan, 29, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court charged with two counts of assaulting an emergency worker in March of this year. She admitted the offences.
Keith Ballinger, prosecuting, said the defendant, of Thames Close, Cricklade, had been arrested for an unrelated offence following an argument with her father at home.
The officers in attendance called for backup up when she began “kicking off”. They decided she was unsuitable for transporting to custody in the back of their police car.
Female officers PC Wright and PC Fry arrived at the scene in a police van. As Morgan was put into the cage, she kicked out at the officers, striking both.
PC Wright suffered pain as a result of the kick, whilst PC Fry felt the impact but didn’t suffer any pain or injury.
The court heard how Morgan assaulted two police officers in 2017 and has since been convicted of two drunk and disorderly offences.
Liz Highams, defending, said her client had a problem with alcohol from 2017 but has since sought help from Turning Point. She has not consumed alcohol since March this year.
The case was adjourned for sentencing on 31 August. A pre-sentence report was ordered.
