A country road near Swindon has been closed following a road traffic collision.
Emergency services were called to a four-vehicle crash on the B4696 Braydon Road at around 9am this morning (Wednesday).
The route – which links Royal Wootton Bassett with Ashton Keynes – has been shut by police in both directions.
One vehicle is believed to have left the carriageway and come to rest in a field.
At least two fire engines are in attendance alongside the ambulance service.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Drivers are advised to avoid the Braydon Road B4696 to the West of Swindon, running between Royal Wootton Bassett and Ashton Keynes.
“The Braydon Crossroad is currently closed following a road traffic collision involving four vehicles.
“Emergency services are currently attending. Please expect delays in the area.”
On Facebook, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service wrote: “The B4696 Braydon road is currently blocked due to an RTC.
“Please find an alternative route until the incident has been cleared.”
