A ‘Scooby’ driver has been arrested after ‘buying vodka for breakfast’, police say.
Following a call from a concerned member of the public, officers responded to speak with the driver of a blue Subaru spotted buying alcohol in Chippenham.
The vehicle was stopped on Hill Corner Road on Sunday morning (28 July), with the driver told to complete a roadside breath test.
After providing a reading of 152 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – where the legal limit is 35 microgrammes – he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
In custody, they failed to provide a sample of breath. They are likely to face a charge of failing to provide a specimen and appear in court in due course.
