A Chippenham man has been charged with raping a young woman in the town.
32-year-old Kristian Cleverley is due to appear before Swindon magistrates today following the alleged sex attack in the summer of 2019.
It’s after police were called reports of a sexual assault on a woman, in her 20s, at an address in south-west Chippenham at around 6.45am on a date in early August.
Due to the seriousness of the offence, the case is likely to be transferred to Swindon Crown Court at today’s hearing. A date for a plea hearing will be set.
