A man from Chippenham has pleaded guilty to harassing a woman over a ten-day period.
26-year-old Alex Hobson previously admitted his crime, and appeared at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 1 May for sentence.
The court heard that between 21 and 31 March 2025, the defendant pursued a course of conduct that amounted to the harassment of his victim.
He attended her home address on multiple occasions, tried to speak with her, and left unwanted notes and gifts.
Magistrates imposed a two-year community order, in which Hobson must complete 160 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity days.
The defendant, of Little Englands, Chippenham, must also undertake an accredited programme lasting 26 days.
The court imposed a two-year restraining order, prohibiting any contact with the woman – and a male named on the order – directly or indirectly.
He’s also banned from entering David Stoddart Gardens in Swindon.
Magistrates did not award compensation to the victim, stating it was “inappropriate in the circumstances” due to it being a domestic abuse case.
