A Chippenham man has been remanded in custody after an alleged attack on a woman.
Jake Clark was arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and false imprisonment following a serious assault at a flat in Portway on Friday 7 March.
The 28-year-old is also accused of damaging an iPhone belonging to the same complainant.
The defendant, of Portway, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (10 March).
Due to two of the three charges being indictable only – meaning they can only be dealt with by a judge – the case was sent to Swindon Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 11 April.
Despite a bail application, Clark was remanded in custody until the next hearing.
