A Chippenham man has been banned from having contact with Calne woman.
36-year-old Shane Michael Robinson was served a Domestic Violence Protection Notice by police officers attending an incident on Tuesday 11 November.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 14 November, Wiltshire Police applied for a 28-day Domestic Violence Protection Order (DVPO) to protect a woman.
Robinson didn’t attend the hearing, but magistrates – having heard details about the incident – granted the order.
As a result the defendant, of Coppin Close, Chippenham, is banned from contacting the woman directly or indirectly.
He was also told to vacate a property in Linden Close, Calne – and is prohibited from attending the address until the order expires.
DVPOs are civil orders made following an application, over concerns for the welfare of an associated person. Breaching the order carries a criminal conviction.
