A mum has been left ‘broken-hearted’ after her daughter was allegedly racially abused.
The woman, from Chippenham, claims a man on a mobility scooter made vile comments towards her two-year-old girl in the town centre on Monday (4 July).
She said that her daughter was ‘minding her own business’ when the male approached and used racist language – words that she refused to repeat.
He is also alleged to have said words to the effect of ‘ew, look at it’ as the child played on the grass near the side entrance to Emery Gate shopping complex at about 12.30pm.
The woman, who was left in ‘total shock’, reported the ‘completely unprovoked’ incident to Wiltshire Police for investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should contact police on 101 quoting log 234 of 4 July.
