A Chippenham dad has chased off a pervert who was reportedly pleasuring himself in public.

The police were called to Patchway, off Redland, on Sunday afternoon (11 September), it’s claimed.

The suspect, a man thought to be in his 30s, was allegedly found pleasuring himself behind a wall.

However, somewhat more disturbingly, it’s claimed the man was spying on children whilst committing the lewd act in broad daylight.

The male was said to be dressed in black work-style trousers and wearing a utility belt. He was also wearing a dark-coloured top and had black hair.

The dad, who saw the man’s genitalia, managed to avert his children’s eyes and scare the suspect away by shouting at him.

“When I shouted at him he immediately ran”, he told Wiltshire 999s. Adding: “He sneaked around and was clearly masturbating while peering around the wall.”

Continuing, he said: “Your children should be able to play safe and not have these kind of weirdos around.

“I was gobsmacked you just don’t expect it, thankfully my children did not see it! But he made his escape quickly enough.”

Wiltshire Police is urging anyone with information which might identify the person responsible to call them on 101 quoting log 54220095809.
