A man who sustained significant injuries in a Chippenham assault has been discharged from hospital.

The 28-year-old victim suffered a fractured skull and broken ribs when he was attacked in Foghampshire, off The Bridge, in the early hours of 23 January.

The violent assault is believed to have followed an argument at the E11evn’s Nightclub between 2.30am and 3am.

The local man was rushed to hospital with significant injuries, where he spent some time in a critical condition with bleeds on the brain. He also sustained numerous other injuries.

However, a source has today (15 February) confirmed that he has been discharged and is recovering at home. Though, his road to recovery is understood to be a lengthy one.

Wiltshire 999s understands that a number of people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including a 22-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent.

Wiltshire Police would like to talk to anyone who has information relating to the assault. They are asked to call 101 and quote log 79 of 23 January.

Alternatively you can leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
