A chicken has died after being ‘shot at’ by two people armed with catapults in Laverstock.
Wiltshire Police has launched an investigation into the fatal incident, which happened on 1 November.
The attack – on hens laying their eggs – took place at around lunchtime at the entrance to Cow Lane.
Both suspects were in possession of catapults and were seen shooting at hens owned by River Bourne Community Farm.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that one of the hens targeted died as a result.
The force said that it is the second incident of a similar nature which has occurred at the farm in recent months.
