A casualty is being treated on the railway line after falling from a bridge this afternoon (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to reports of a body on the tracks in the Wallingford area – between Didcot and Reading – at around 5pm.
It’s understood the injured person is alive, and being treated by paramedics at the scene.
The incident has resulted in serious disruption to train services that are supposed to be running between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington.
A GWR spokesperson said: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at Goring & Streatley the line is blocked. Disruption is expected until 19:00 24/09.
“Train services between Reading and Didcot Parkway will be delayed.
“The Emergency Services have been called to an incident in the Goring area, and as such our trains are currently unable to run between Didcot Parkway and Reading.
“Trains are being delayed at various stations on route.
“Police are currently on site, but customers travelling through the area on longer journeys will be delayed on route. Some trains will divert where possible.”
