A man died in a serious medical incident on a dual carriage in Swindon last night.

Great Western Way was closed between Blagrove Roundabout and Mannginton Roundabout from around 10.40pm after emergency services were called to a cardiac arrest.

Two ambulances, an air ambulance critical care team and an ambulance operations officers were in attendance alongside a number of police officers.

Despite medics’ best efforts, the casualty – a man in his 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s vehicle – a small car – was recovered from the carriageway and the road reopened at around midnight.
