A casualty is lying in the road after being ‘hit by a car’ on a busy Swindon route.
Police have closed Beechcroft Road following the incident near Beechcroft Library, which happened at about 4.30pm this afternoon (Monday).
It’s understood that there are no ambulances available to attend at this stage – with the road shut in both directions until medics arrive on scene.
The casualty is not believed to have been seriously injured, but does requite medical attention.
There are significant traffic delays in the vicinity.
While numerous witnesses claim the woman was hit by a car, and impacted the bonnet, this has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
In a public post on Facebook, Clare Danswan said that “a woman has been ran down in an RTA”, adding that “ambulances on their way so best avoid the area for now”.
