Emergency services raced to a residential property in Westcroft, off Hungerdown Lane, at around 7pm this evening (Sunday).

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance medics landed at the scene in their helicopter, while Great Western Air Ambulance medics arrived in a car.

Medics stabilised the patient before taking them to Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, which landed on Westcroft Playing Fields.

At present, 999 crews are working on the casualty on the helicopter. They are expected to airlift the person to a specialist hospital shortly.

The exact nature of the incident is unclear at this early stage. Westcroft is currently blocked.

UPDATE 9.30PM: Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance lifted at around 9.15pm, and has flown the casualty to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

All emergency services have been contacted for a statement. However, it’s unlikely we’ll receive a response until tomorrow morning (Monday, 7 April).
