A car has slammed head-on into a tree on a private drive near Chippenham.
Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle road traffic collision in the hamlet of Easton Piercy at around 6.15pm on Wednesday evening (16 April).
A grey Mercedes-Benz ploughed into a tree on a secluded farm track on private land. The male driver was left trapped in the wrecked vehicle.

Firefighters from Chippenham and Corsham attended and freed the man using “small tools”, a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
An ambulance, an ambulance operations officer and a first responder were sent to the scene by the ambulance service – with one patient treated.
After his extrication from the car, he was taken to the Royal United Hospital for treatment.
According to a witness, there were around six or seven police vehicles at the incident.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the ambulance and fire service personnel worked to “bring the male driver to safety” following the smash.
The force did not provide information about the man’s level of injury. However, the scene was clear by 9.30pm – suggesting they were not overly serious.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be revealed.
