A Calne man has been slapped with an interim stalking protection order.
Mark Thomas denied carrying out acts associated with stalking when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (20 December).
The magistrates, satisfied there was a risk to the alleged victims, granted an interim stalking protection order after an application from Wiltshire Police.
As a result, the 53-year-old is banned from contacting a man and woman, and can only contact his daughter with approval from various organisations – and with supervision.
Under the terms of the order he cannot engage in any form of surveillance of the three named persons by following them, recording images or using electronic or satellite devices.
Thomas, of Salmons Leap, is also prohibited from entering Royal Wootton Bassett – unless he can provide evidence it was for work purposes – and Marlowe Way for any reason.
A contested hearing will take place on 5 February 2024, where the court will decide if the stalking protection order is imposed for a longer term.
