Calne man remanded in custody charged with dealing cocaine after raids

A Calne man had been remanded in custody after being charged with dealing cocaine.

It comes after police officers raided a business premises in New Park Street, Devizes, and a residential address in Dixon Way, Calne, yesterday (5 April).

The operation also included a specialist search team, firearms officers, officers from Operation Fortitude and our Digital Intelligence Investigation Unit.

Jon David Brewster, 32, of Dixon Way, appeared before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court today (6 April) charged with being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug cocaine.

The defendant will next appear at Swindon Crown Court on 6 May.

Sergeant Gavin Brewster said: “The work of our neighbourhood policing team relies on information received from members of the public and we would urge anyone who has concerns about drug dealing in their local community to report this so we can act on it.”

Local Inspector James Brain added: “We want to make it clear that we will not tolerate drug dealing and will continue to work proactively with our partners to tackle this issue and ensure we are doing everything we can to make arrests and ensure offenders are brought to justice.”
