A Calne man has been remanded in custody over an alleged child sex offence.
Jason Payne is accused of telling a 15-year-old girl that he had masturbated to a photo of her in a bikini, and requested she send him intimate photos.
The 37-year-old is also charged with intimidating the same teenager by threatening to take his own life if she made a statement to the police.
The alleged offending took place between 4 April and 27 April this year.
Payne, of Grayling Close, was put before Swindon Magistrates Court on 16 May.
The bench deemed the case so serious that it must be sent to Swindon Crown Court and the defendant should be remanded in custody.
He is due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 12 June. No pleas have been entered at this stage.
Alleged victims of sexual crimes have the right to lifelong anonymity. It is an imprisonable criminal offence to share any piece of information that could lead to their identification.
