The A3102 is closed whilst emergency services attend a bus fire near Calne.

Fire crews were called to the incident in Whetham, near Mile Elm, at around 6pm this evening (2 December).

A bus believed to be a Faresaver single-decker service, is ablaze and being battled by firefighters from Calne, Chippenham and Devizes.

Crews used four breathing apparatus wearers, two hose reel jets a saw and a air monitoring equipment to extinguish the fire.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Be aware that the A3102 between Calne and the A342 has been closed to allow emergency services to attend to a broken down bus.

“Please consider alternative routes as it is likely the road will be closed in both directions for some hours.”
