British Transport Police evacuate Chippenham railway station over ‘bomb threat’

Chippenham railway station has been evacuated due to a ‘bomb threat’ this afternoon.

The British Transport Police closed down the station after reports of a suspicious package at some time before midday.

Trains are passing through Chippenham but not stopping at the station whilst the incident is ongoing.

Network Rail and Wiltshire Police are also in attendance.

UPDATE 1PM: The railway station has reopened.
