Three people have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after an incident in Swindon today.

At around 2pm this afternoon, police were called to a suspicious incident at Greenbridge Retail Park, where it’s understood a teenager was kidnapped.

POLICE STOOD NEAR TO WHERE A KNIFE WAS FOUND

A short time later, a large number of officers and the police helicopter were called to the Eldene and Park South area, where they made a number of arrests and recovered weapons including a bloody knife and metal pole from bushes and grassland near Shaftesbury Lake.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed three arrests: “A 19-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and affray and two 15-year-olds from Swindon have been arrested on suspicion of kidnap. They are all currently in police custody.”

A teenage kidnap victim involved in the incident has been located safe and well.

“At this stage we do not believe that anyone has been injured, but our enquiries are ongoing.

“This is not related to the Major Incident in Amesbury and Salisbury”, the spokesperson added.
