An eight-year-old boy has been hit by a car – as police launch a hunt for the fleeing driver.
The child was cycling along Blackberry Lane in Potterne, near Devizes, when he was struck by a vehicle at around 8.20am on Friday (4 October).
As a result of the impact, the boy came off his bicycle and sustained several injuries – including a wound to his head, which was assessed by paramedics.
Despite the ordeal, police say he is not believed to have suffered any life-threatening injuries.
Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle immediately left at speed – fleeing the scene.
The car is described as being navy or green in colour and the shape of a Volkswagen Polo or Golf.
