A body has been recovered after emergency services were called to a Chippenham Park.
Emergency services were spotted attending an incident in Monkton Park at 11am today (Monday).
Specially-trained water rescue firefighters were tasked after a man’s body was located in the River Avon.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it sent two technical rescue teams, one from Swindon and another from Chippenham, to the incident.
By around 3pm, the body has been recovered and 999 personnel were stood down.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Police were called to Monkton Park yesterday (19/6) shortly before 10am following concerns for the welfare of a man in his 40s.
“Sadly, a body was located in the river a short time later. We do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“A file will be prepared on behalf of H M Coroner for Wiltshire.”
