Paramedics found a body whilst carrying out a welfare check in Swindon on Thursday.
South Western Ambulance Service attended an address in Shaftesbury Avenue shortly before 12pm yesterday (24 March) to check on a man who had ‘not been seen for more than a week’.
Unable to get into the property, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the incident. Firefighters were able to open the door and allow paramedics access.
On entry, they discovered the body of a man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire Police attended the scene and awaited the arrival of a private ambulance.
“At around midday we were called to the sudden death of a man at a property in Shaftesbury Avenue, Swindon”, a force spokesperson confirmed.
They added: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.”
