The body of an elderly man has been found after police launched a search in Wiltshire.
Officers had been trying to locate 83-year-old Roy following his disappearance at around 7.30am on Thursday morning (19 March).
Wiltshire Search and Rescue sent volunteers to support the search operation in the Pewsey area. The police helicopter was also deployed.
“Sadly, we can confirm that a body has been found in the search for missing Pewsey man Roy”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said today (Friday).
Adding: “Extensive searches were conducted and a body was found yesterday afternoon.
“Although formal identification has not yet taken place, we have updated Roy’s family of this development and our thoughts are with them at this time.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
