UPDATE: Dog killed after BMW overturns in Swindon police pursuit
A BMW overturned in a residential street during a chase involving armed police.
Firearms officers were authorised to pursue the X5 in Swindon last night (Friday, 14 February).
It’s not clear where the chase began, but it ended in the Duchess Way area of Stratton.
Locals claim two cars were written off when the vehicle smashed into them, overturning in the process – before the occupants reportedly fled on foot.
Officers weren’t far behind, with the two occupants detained and arrested for offences. It’s believed two other occupants were able to evade capture.
The BMW was seized after the driver was found to have no insurance or a licence. Some of the tyres were also in a dangerous condition.
