A group of bikers have been issued a warning by police after they spooked a horse in a woods – resulting in the rider falling off.
Officers were called to multiple reports of off-road motorbikes causing anti-social behaviour along the bridle paths in Asham Wood, west of Frome, on Sunday (2 March).
Their activities caused a rider to fall from their horse after it was spooked. The rider suffered minor injuries.
Police deployed a drone to hunt down the group of bikers, who were later stopped at the roadside.
Officers issued a Section 59 warnings for anti-social behaviour.
“If they are caught engaging in this same ASB within 12 months of receiving this warning, their bikes will be seized”, an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.
Asham Wood, near Nunney, is a 347-acre biological Site of Special Scientific Interest.
