A biker was seriously injured in a crash yesterday afternoon (Sunday 25 September).
Emergency services were called to the scene in Winsley Hill, west of Bradford on Avon, at around 2pm.
The road traffic collision involved a grey Mazda campervan and a red motorcycle, with the rider sustaining serious leg injuries.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance touched down in a nearby field to allow the charity’s critical care medics to treat the male biker alongside local ambulance crews.
The rider’s mother rushed to the scene before the casualty, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital by land ambulance for urgent treatment.
It’s believed the motorcyclist crossed the white line and impacted the front of the campervan.
The motorcycle was completely destroyed in the smash, with the front wheel detached from the frame and debris strewn across the road.
The route was closed in both directions whilst emergency services worked but reopened about two hours later.
