At least five officers were called to Great Western Way’s at around 9am after the pair of french bulldogs as said to have gone on the run from a home in Gorse Hill after the garden fence blew down.

A number of local of police, accompanied by two armed officers operating a drone, and at least one community support officer were seen running after the beloved pets in the Swindon College area.

It’s understood the dogs ran across Great Western Way and other roads on a number of occasions.

The police drone was used to search for the dogs for a short time before the armed response unit were stood down to continue with more pressing matters.

At 10am, one of the dogs were last sighted on North Star Avenue running towards the train line.
